The Minnesota Zoo has an amazing corps of volunteers who support our mission, vision and values with their time, talent and treasure. Since the Zoo opened in 1978, volunteers have donated nearly 3.5 million hours of service to the Zoo. The value of those hours represents tens of millions of dollars! That’s pretty impressive!
Of course dollars and hours do not even begin to represent how grateful we are for all that our Minnesota Zoo volunteers do for the Zoo. In a typical year, our dedicated volunteers walk the exhibit trails at the Zoo ready to answer your questions, point you in the right direction and very often provide just the right ingredients for magical moments that make unforgettable memories. In addition, during these past years, volunteers have supported the Zoo and its mission from afar – by sending words of encouragement to staff, assisting with various projects, and being Zoo advocates within the community. We cannot be more grateful.
