Driving Directions

From Minneapolis:
Take Interstate 35W south to Highway 62 east. Exit taking Highway 77 south and follow it to County Road 38 east. Follow the brown-colored “Zoo” signs.

From St. Paul:
Take Interstate 35E south to Highway 77 south. Exit on County Road 38 east. Follow the brown-colored “Zoo” signs.

From south of Apple Valley:
• Take Interstate 35 north to 35E north. Take Highway 77 south to County Road 38 east. Follow the brown-colored “Zoo” signs.
• Take Highway 52 north to County Rd 42 west. Take Johnny Cake Ridge Road north to County Road 38 (McAndrews Road) west. Follow the brown-colored “Zoo” signs.

Public Transportation

The Minnesota Zoo is serviced by the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) bus line route 440. They also provide curb to curb service to the zoo via our Connect bus serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Rosemount, and Savage. A rider using our Ride MVTA app can schedule a Connect bus to pick them up at their door and bring them to the zoo and then back home again any time between the hours of 6am and 9pm for $3 each way.
