Learn what Runners and Golfers did this Summer to Save Wildlife!

Thank you Runners

Tiger Tracks is a 5K & Kids’ run with a purpose.  We thank the 749 runners who participated this year on August 22.  This one-of-a-kind race through the Minnesota Zoo grounds began in 2008, and has raised over $200,000 for the Zoo’s conservation efforts here in Minnesota and around the world.  Special thanks also to our fantastic corporate sponsors, Delta Airlines and General Mills.   Mark your calendar for a WILD time (to save wildlife) at next year’s race on August 27, 2016.

Thank you Golfers

When David and Jamie Romans started a golf tournament in memory of their son, Will, they were hoping to eventually raise $100,000 to fund an endowment to bring joy into the lives of children. Six years later, and with generous support from many, the William David Romans Endowment has doubled that expectation and raised over $200,000.  Proceeds from the endowment fund animal visits to local children’s hospitals by the Zoomobile and bring children with financial need to the Zoo through the Zoo Safari program.   This year, on August 31, over 100 participated in the tournament held on a perfect summer day at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club.  Our thanks go out to all who organized, donated, or golfed in this special event.  Your contributions help advance the Zoo’s mission of connecting people, animals and the natural world to save wildlife.
