During the entire month of November, the Minnesota Zoo will be sharing stories of the many rescued and rehabilitated animals that we care for. All of our animals receive amazing care from zoo staff, volunteers and community members. All of this work is made possible because of YOUR amazing support – thank you! Check back daily as we feature a new story from around the Zoo.

Thanksgiving is one of only two days each year when the Zoo is closed to the public. Behind-the-scenes, though, our animals still require care and feeding, while exhibits and holding areas still require cleaning and refreshment. So, as you sit down to feast or watch a game with friends and family, please remember with gratitude the Zoo’s extraordinarily dedicated zookeepers, zoologists and veterinary staff who are spending their Thanksgiving at the Zoo, ensuring that the animals we love and appreciate continue to receive the best possible care.

Did you know? The Zoo is a perfect place to walk off the holiday meal while spending time making memories with loved ones. Join us later this weekend at the Zoo. And as you are exploring our trails and experiencing the wonders of the natural world, be sure to say “thanks” when you see a member of the Zoo staff! They will appreciate knowing their care for our animals matters to you.
