  • ZOOMS Institute August 6-8, 2018, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
    This institute will engage teachers in utilizing animals and the Zoo as a tool to integrate engineering concepts into their curriculum, based on the Minnesota State Science Standards. Sessions will focus on Engineering BY Animals, Engineering FROM Animals (biomimicry), and Engineering FOR Animals. To register, visit here.
  • ZOOMS Institute 2.0August 9, 2018, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
    ZOOMS 2.0 will expand your zoo knowledge and highlight how STEM is being used by field biologists, conservationists, and zoo staff to help save wildlife both in the zoo and in the wild.   • Show Us Your Mussels Teacher Training September 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. OR September 22, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.Are you interested in learning more about native freshwater mussels and water quality? Would you like to learn more about the Minnesota Zoo and DNR’s conservation work? Join us for a FREE Professional Development including behind the scenes peaks and tours of the Minnesota Zoo’s native freshwater mussel program. In addition to receiving CEUs, participants will leave with more knowledge of these critically threatened species and resources to implement the Show Us Your Mussel Challenge for the 2018-2019 school year.
