Things to Know

Treetop Trail: The Treetop Trail is open daily and included with general Zoo admission. The trail closes daily 30 minutes prior to the Zoo’s closing time. The Treetop trail can close without notice due to weather conditions. During cooler-weather months, the Treetop trail will open by noon, weather permitting.

Parking: All non-member ticket purchasers must pay for parking at time of ticket purchase.

Waterfront Construction Update: Construction is happening in phases and may affect some indoor and outdoor areas. The map is not accurate. We are working on updating. Construction zones will be visible near the Macaque habitat, Upper Plaza, and Waterfront areas. Most notable, if entering via East parking, access to your favorite trails and nature experiences will be available through the top of tropics.. Take the Tropics Ramp to the lower level to visit Discovery Bay, the Northern Trail, the Treetop Trail, and the Well Fargo Family Farm. Macaques are off habitat and currently living behind the scenes.

Play Areas: The Bee Hive (indoor), is open. Dino Hideout, Woodland Adventure (outdoors on Central Plaza), Splash Pad and Hanifl Family Wild Woods are open.

Gift Shop: Our gift shops are open!

Public Transportation: The Minnesota Zoo is serviced by the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) 440 bus line. You can connect the Red Line at the Mall of America to the Cedar Grove Transit Station and take a connecting bus (Route 440) to the Zoo. This service is offered Monday-Friday, several times per day. Please contact the MVTA for bus routes and time at (952) 882-7500, or visit mvta.com and use the Trip Planner.
