School Group Bus Fund Scholarship

The Bus Funds have all been distributed for the 2023-2024 school year and we are no longer accepting applications. Please check back in August 2024 to apply for the 2024-2025 school year.

NEW! At the Minnesota Zoo, we know that one of the greatest barriers for teachers bringing students to the Zoo is the rising costs of bussing. The Minnesota Zoo is piloting a new School Bus Scholarship program this Spring to reduce this barrier.

The Zoo School Bus Fund Scholarship is available for field trips to the Minnesota Zoo taking place from March 15, 2024-June 7, 2024. Scholarships are limited and are for bus transportation up to $750 maximum. Schools are required to have at least 40% free/reduced lunch. Minnesota Zoo uses the list from the previous school year as provided from the Minnesota Department of Education to determine eligibility for Minnesota public schools only.

Because this is a pilot, teachers will receive a brief survey to complete about their experience that will inform how we set up the fund for the next school year. Admission for public school groups is also based on Free and Reduced-Price Lunch percentage. Please register online for your field trip prior to applying for this scholarship.
