Frequently Asked Questions

Will masks be required for participants?

Face coverings are currently optional for the participants, in accordance to zoo policy.

Will snacks be provided?

A daily snack will NOT be provided. If your child would like to bring a snack, they may. Snacks will be eaten outside and with six-feet or more of spacing to accommodate distancing protocols. If your child brings a snack, please ensure they do not contain peanuts for the safety of other students. Sharing of snacks between students will not be permitted.

How should participants dress?

Participants should wear clothing appropriate for the weather and for exploring nature. This means clothes and shoes that are comfortable for exploring and being outdoors.

How much time will participants be outside?

Wild Wonders is a nature based program, so the majority of time will be spent outside exploring natural areas.

What COVID-19 safety protocols are in place for this program?

The health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals is a top priority at the Minnesota Zoo. For this reason, class size is limited and a consistent group of students is present throughout the session. The majority of class time is spent outside exploring nature in open air. Students are encouraged to wash their hands often. Strict cleaning protocols are used and the curriculum has been designed to limit shared used of materials.
