Wild Wonders Preschool (in-person)

Wild Wonders Preschool is a unique program that brings the natural world alive!

Spring Wild Wonders Preschool (in-person)

This spring we are offering nature preschool for 10 consecutive Mondays. During this time, we will connect children with nature by encouraging their innate affinity for the outdoors.

Spring sessions focus on our domestic animal friends at the Wells Fargo Family Farm and the natural areas surrounding it. Throughout this exciting program, children will explore nature's many wonders first-hand through dramatic play, art, stories, songs, and visiting our animals!

4-6 years of age AND children must be group ready to participate: this includes the ability to listen and follow directions, remain with the group at all times, follow safety rules independently, and communicate with the instructor. All children must also be toilet trained.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will masks be required for participants?

Yes, participants will be expected to wear masks both inside and outside, in accordance to zoo policy.

Will snacks be provided?

A daily snack will NOT be provided. If your child would like to bring a snack, they may. Snacks will be eaten outside and with six-feet or more of spacing to accommodate distancing protocols. If your child brings a snack, please ensure they do not contain peanuts for the safety of other students. Sharing of snacks between students will not be permitted.

How should participants dress?

Participants should wear clothing appropriate for the weather and for exploring nature. This means clothes and shoes that are comfortable for exploring and being outdoors.

How much time will participants be outside?

Wild Wonders is a nature based program, so the majority of time will be spent outside exploring natural areas.

What COVID-19 safety protocols are in place for this program?

The health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals is a top priority at the Minnesota Zoo. For this reason, class size is limited and a consistent group of students is present throughout the session. The majority of class time is spent outside exploring nature in open air, with attention to maintaining appropriate distance. Students are encouraged to wash their hands often with soap and water. Per Zoo policy, all participants will be expected to wear a mask throughout their time at the Zoo unless they are eating or drinking. Strict cleaning protocols are used and the curriculum has been designed to limit shared used of materials.
