Introducing a brand new class for our youngest visitors! Little Learners is a program designed for children ages 2-5 to explore Zoo topics with their parent/guardian. These 60-minute classes include time to explore in our classroom, have guided group activities, and includes an art project. The program will launch in September 2024, and will be offered on select Saturdays through April 2025.

Times: Choose between 10:00-11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Ages: 2-5 with an adult
Fee:
• Members: $20 (includes 1 child participant and 1 adult)
• Non-members: $30 (includes 1 child participant and 1 adult)
• Max of 2 children per adult and max of 2 adults per child.
• Child must be a minimum of 24 months at time of the program.
Zoo admission not included. If you want to visit the Zoo after a class, you must purchase a separate Zoo admission ticket online.

Dr. Zoolittle:
What do animals need to be healthy? Explore with us as we investigate how to take care of animals through diet, watching behavior, and check-ups with a veterinarian. Children are welcome to bring a stuffed animal that may need a check-up as well!

Food From the Farm:
Where does our food come from? Whether it’s fruits, vegetables, wheat, or meat…farms provide us with a variety of foods. Learn about the animals, plants, and trees that call our farm home.

Eagles, Porcupines, and Bears…Oh My!:
Minnesota is home to some amazing wildlife. Follow the tracks to find out what animals you might see at the Zoo or out on a walk in your own neighborhood!

Primate Party:
What’s the difference between a monkey and an ape? Join us as we explore what makes primates similar and different through movement and song. Then make sure to visit our monkeys and apes out on the Tropics Trail!

Art, Naturally:
Nature is all around us! Create art using natural materials gathered from around the Zoo while we learn about how the seasons affect nature.
