Animal Play Day – July 18 
Join us for our new Animal Play Days at the Minnesota Zoo! The Zoo animals receive enrichment every day to keep them mentally and physically strong – and Animal Play Days give guests a special opportunity to watch enrichment and engage with zookeepers at featured animal habitats.

Dinosaurs – May 28 – September 5
This summer, bring your family to the Minnesota Zoo, where amazing lives and dinosaurs roam! See life-like Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Allosaurus and more. You can even snap a selfie with a T. rex. (Just watch out for the Dilophosaurus – he spits.) The Zoo is the only place your family can experience dinosaurs and some of their living friends who survived extinction. Tickets only $5 with Zoo admission. ($4 for Members)

Aveda Butterfly Garden – June 18 – September 5
Enjoy the spectacular sight of hundreds of North American butterflies at the end of the Tropics Trail.  The Aveda Butterfly Garden features more than 40 different species of North American butterflies and moths, fluttering in a beautiful environment that includes a small stream and a diversity of plants.

Brew at the Zoo –  August 5, 2016
Join us for our 8th annual Brew at the Zoo.  There’s nothing better than cold beer on a warm summer evening.  Enjoy a wide variety of refreshing local domestic/microbrews, complimentary appetizers, and live music.

Tiger Tracks  5K and Kids’ Run –  August 27, 2016
Lace-up your shoes and make tracks to the Minnesota Zoo for our annual 5K run to save wildlife.

Sea Otter Awareness Week  September 18 -24, 2015
Help us celebrate Sea Otter Awareness Week from Sunday, September 18 through Saturday, September 24, 2016. Visit our resident sea otters Capers, Jasper and Rocky in the Russia’s Grizzly Coast exhibit and learn more about how these charismatic marine mammals play a vital role in the coastal ecosystem.

HallZooWeen – October 22 & 23 and 29 & 30, 2016
This October, the Zoo is celebrating fall color and things that go bump in the night. Enjoy up-close encounters with both cute and creepy critters. From bats and tarantulas to tigers and tapirs, HallZooWeen offers something for kids of ALL ages. Participate in hands-on education programs and watch the animals enjoy Halloween-themed treats throughout the Zoo.  Weekend activities include face painting, live music, and more.

Enjoy and early morning snack in the “Call of the Wild” restaurant and a personal visit with Santa! There will be fun activities and a special gift for the kids. Online registration begins November 16 at 9:00 a.m. Seating is limited and will fill quickly.
