Conservation Carousel
Round and round, up and down! The Minnesota Zoo is excited for the opening of our NEW, hand-crafted Conservation Carousel.

Tropical Reef Dive Show
Our spectacular floor-to-ceiling underwater viewing allows you to watch aquarium staff SCUBA dive with the sharks and tropical fish of the Coral Reef. Dive shows are daily at 10:30 a.m. (limited capacity)

Close Encounters
This program provides unique, engaging on-site animal experiences to zoo guests.

Backstage Pass
Each Backstage Pass is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience designed to foster positive, lifelong connections to the natural world.

Cow Milking Demonstration (seasonal)
The dairy barn at the Well’s Fargo Family Farm features daily cow milking demonstrations at 11, 1, and 3, April through November. (limited capacity) Watch video.

Shark Feedings
Watch the savage beauty of our sharks and other marine life during their scheduled feedings. Discovery Bay shark feedings are at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Penguin Feedings
Come watch our Penguins get fed at 10am and 2:30pm

Seasonal Attractions

Wells Fargo Family Farm (April 1-November 30)
Experience a working farm and learn how food gets from farms to tables. This popular exhibit offers families a chance to see and touch domestic animals like cows, goats, pigs, and more.

Farm Trams will be running – Saturday & Sunday in May  from 11:30-1:30

Splash Pad (summer)
Cool off under life-sized animal sculptures in our interactive water fountain on the Central Plaza.

Woodland Adventure
An interactive, nature-based play area located off the Zoo’s Central Plaza.

Rediscover Discovery Bay
Members After Hours – May 20 & 21
Adults After Hours – May 22
Join us for an evening at the Zoo and visit our newest additions, critically endangered Hawaiian monk seals.  Moon jellyfish will also be making their debut, along with the return of sea dragons, live coral, sea horses, and other marine life. Pre-registration is requested and free admission applies to those covered by your membership. Paid admission for non-members is limited to the adult night on May 22.

Rediscover Discovery Bay Opening Weekend – May 23 – 25 
The Zoo will be the new home for five Hawaiian monk seals. We are excited to share these amazing animals with our guests in the newly renovated Discovery Bay.

Photo Contest – Starts June 1 
Attention wildlife shutterbugs! The Minnesota Zoo is excited to announce the 6th annual Photo Contest, sponsored by National Camera Exchange.

Fish Bites – June 17 
Join Twin Cities’ top chefs as they prepare delicious and sustainable gourmet ocean and freshwater dishes paired with a variety of new and sustainable wines.

Military Family Week – July 1 -7
The Zoo salutes our troops with special discounts this week, including free admission for military personnel (active, retired, and civilian) as well as half-priced admission for family members.

Hanifl Family Wild Woods – July 25 & 26, 2015
Our new outdoor nature-based play will provide kids climbing, crawling, digging, and discovery in a ‘please touch’ natural environment. Hanifl Family Wild Woods grand opening weekend festivities culminate with the Okee Dokee Brothers concert on July 26, part of the Subway Music in the Zoo series. For ticket information go to

Brew at the Zoo – August 7
Raise your glass to conservation and join us for the sixth annual suds sipping’ safari “Brew at the Zoo”.  There’s nothing better than cold, frothy beer on a warm summer evening.

Tiger Tracks – August 22
Lace-up your shoes and make tracks to the Minnesota Zoo. This wild run will start at the Shady Oaks Picnic Area and weave into the Zoo and out around the Northern Trail.
