Dinosaurs – May 28 – September 5
This summer, bring your family to the Minnesota Zoo, where amazing lives and dinosaurs roam! See life-like Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Allosaurus and more. You can even snap a selfie with a T. rex. (Just watch out for the Dilophosaurus – he spits.) The Zoo is the only place your family can experience dinosaurs and some of their living friends who survived extinction. Tickets only $5 with Zoo admission. ($4 for Members)
Aveda Butterfly Garden – June 18 – September 5
Enjoy the spectacular sight of hundreds of North American butterflies at the end of the Tropics Trail. The Aveda Butterfly Garden features more than 40 different species of North American butterflies and moths, fluttering in a beautiful environment that includes a small stream and a diversity of plants.
Tiger Tracks 5K and Kids’ Run – August 27, 2016

Sea Otter Awareness Week September 18 -24, 2016
Help us celebrate Sea Otter Awareness Week from Sunday, September 18 through Saturday, September 24, 2016. Visit our resident sea otters Capers, Jasper and Rocky in the Russia’s Grizzly Coast exhibit and learn more about how these charismatic marine mammals play a vital role in the coastal ecosystem.
Jewels of the Wild – September 22
Friends and family are invited to a luxurious open house at JB Hudson Jewelers. On September 22, from 10AM- 5PM, the Minnesota Zoo and JB Hudson Jewelers will feature animal-themed jewelry with a portion of the day’s sales will support the Zoo’s mission to connect people, animals, and the natural world to save wildlife.

What good are zoos? Join AZUL at this happy hour as Kevin Willis, Vice President for Biological Programs, explores the role and relevance of the modern zoo.

Sample delicious and sustainable bites paired with wine, beer and craft cocktails at the Zoo’s NEW Zoo Crawl. This exclusive after hours event features a silent auction, fun games, and up-close access. Zoo Crawl is a fundraising event to support the Zoo’s efforts to save wildlife and connect people, animals, and the natural world. Tickets go on sale soon. HallZooWeen – October 22 & 23 and 29 & 30, 2016
This October, the Zoo is celebrating fall color and things that go bump in the night. Enjoy up-close encounters with both cute and creepy critters. From bats and tarantulas to tigers and tapirs, HallZooWeen offers something for kids of ALL ages. Participate in hands-on education programs and watch the animals enjoy Halloween-themed treats throughout the Zoo. Weekend activities include face painting, live music, and more.
