Backstage Pass: Moose

Get to know the oftentimes elusive moose—Minnesota’s iconic 7-foot, 1,000-pound, plant eater from up north!

These larger-than-life mammals of the Northwoods are sure to make an impression, along with a few of our other Northern Trail residents. Go on a behind-the-scenes walk of the Northern Trail to get a view like none other – you may even get to help feed some snacks, assist in a training session, and take a moose selfie!

Just like the moose, we will be outside, so make sure you dress for the weather!

• The Minnesota Zoo prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of all the animals in our care. Each animal is given the choice to participate in these experiences, and it is always up to them to decide if and how much they want to participate. We may also need to cancel a program due to animal health concerns. If a cancelation is necessary, you will be invited to attend another experience or receive a refund of your registration.
• For the wellbeing of the guests, guests must follow the directions of the animal care staff.
• The Zoo is not a nut-free environment as nuts are a regular part of our animal diets and may be used during animal demonstrations and programs as positive reinforcement.
