Backstage Pass: Farm Babies

Be part of the cutest springtime tradition around as you wake up with the Farm and its Farm Babies!

This is your chance to visit the farm before the Zoo opens to see all the babies (and parents) and learn what it takes to manage a working farm. A Farm Keeper will give you a private tour while sharing their favorite animal stories, discussing the importance of heritage breed* conservation, and introducing you to many of the babies in your exclusive Farm Babies experience. What you will actually see do will depend a little on you. So, if you’re partial to pigs, crazy about cows, or goats are your groove, tell the staff. Who knows what they might have up their sleeves for you to touch, feed, or do?! Everyone’s tour will end with a photo op with our incredible Clydesdale horses.

*Heritage breeds are traditional livestock breeds that were raised by our forebearers. Typically, they are also a true genetic breed (when mated together, it reproduces the breed type), have or had a conservation status, and are registered as purebred animals.

Special Notes:
• The Minnesota Zoo prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of all the animals in our care. Each animal is given the choice to participate in these experiences, and it is always up to them to decide if and how much they want to participate. We may also need to cancel a program due to animal health concerns. If a cancelation is necessary, you will be invited to attend another experience or receive a refund of your registration.
• For the wellbeing of the guests, guests must follow the directions of the animal care staff.
• The Zoo is not a nut-free environment as nuts are a regular part of our animal diets and may be used during animal demonstrations and programs as positive reinforcement.
