Muse: Japanese Macaques

Celebrate World Monkey Day and the Zoo’s revitalized macaque habitat by making a clay mug inspired by our snow-cozy monkey muses. Visit the macaques and chat with one of their caretakers to learn all about these charismatic animals and their new habitat. Then, using basic hand-building techniques and earthenware clay, make a mug to decorate with custom monkey stencils, colorants, and your own designs. All skill levels and abilities welcome.

Mugs will be fired offsite and should be ready to be picked up at the Zoo 3-4 weeks after class. You will be emailed when they are ready for pickup. Shipping may be available for an additional fee.

Class fee: $60 for members, $65 for non-members, plus materials fee (listed with each program). Includes Zoo admission.
Meeting location: Education Event Center (EEC)
Program maximum: 20 participants
