Minnesota Zoo Announces New Chief Strategy and Engagement Officer

Apple Valley, MN – February 6, 2020 – The Minnesota Zoo is pleased to announce the hiring of Amy Ritter Cowen to the role of Chief Strategy and Engagement Officer. In this position, Cowen will oversee the Minnesota Zoo’s communication, special events, membership, and sales teams, and will lead efforts to advance the Zoo’s brand and grow annual attendance.

Cowen brings with her more than 25 years of non-profit marketing, communication, and strategic planning expertise. Cowen’s tenure includes leadership positions at Chicago’s John G. Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, and the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. Cowen relocated to the Twin Cities this summer and has been most recently working as a senior consultant for Public Communications Inc.
