Costa Rica Family Travel EdVenture
Sea turtles, sloths, bats, butterflies, macaws and monkeys—Pura Vida!
Join the Minnesota Zoo one of its staff on this classic Costa Rican adventure. Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and friends to this tropical paradise where you surely will find Pura Vida! Pura Vida is a way of life—it’s the countries natural beauty, friendly people, and laid-back atmosphere.
From the beaches of the Gulf coast to the cloud forests of Monte Verde, the beauty never ends. A walk on the hanging bridges puts you eye to eye with amazing scenery. Arenal Volcano is an experience you won’t forget, don’t worry, it’s been inactive for years. And not to be outdone is the cuisine and culture. We’ll make sure you eat, taste, and even cook your way through this amazing EdVenture. If that’s not enough, no trip to Costa Rica would be complete without chocolate and coffee. Costa Rica will absolutely delight your senses!
Of course, as a Minnesota Zoo EdVenture, the focus will certainly be on animals and conservation—connecting the animals and conservation projects at the Zoo to their wild counterparts. Sea turtles and sloths, bats and butterflies, and macaws and monkeys are only just a handful of the animals you will see and learn more about. The wildlife is not only spectacular, but it’s also up-close for all to see!
Costa Rica proudly shelters more than 5% of the known biodiversity in the world and is home to 29 national parks. The country operates on 98% renewable energy and has 26% of protected landmass. Recognizing the country’s natural wealth, Costa Ricans have placed sustainability at the core of their culture and traditions, in order to protect it. A global leader and pioneer in sustainability, and awarded 2019 Champion of the Earth by the United Nations, Costa Rica is considered one of the most biodiverse countries in the world.
Each day in Costa Rica offers unforgettable experiences. We are certain you will return from this once-in-a-lifetime journey more relaxed, rejuvenated, and inspired! Are you ready for the Pura Vida?
