Winter in northern Minnesota is as picturesque as one could ever imagine!
Join the Minnesota Zoo for this Northwoods adventure and let your senses run wild. We start this three-day, two-night journey at the Minnesota Zoo with a behind-the-scenes visit of the Zoo’s wolf habitat. We then continue our adventure to the beautiful city of Ely, where you will gain a new familiarity with and love of one of our state’s most charismatic species. Ely was cited by National Geographic as one of “America’s Best Adventure Towns.” Come find out for yourself and prepare to be amazed!

Age: 13+ with an adult (18+); max of 2 youth per adult

Your EdVenture Itinerary:
Day 1 - Friday, February 5: Minnesota Zoo to Ely
Begin your EdVenture at the Minnesota Zoo with a welcome and behind-the-scenes visit to the wolf habitat. Meet the Zoo’s wolves and connect with their caretakers. Depart for Ely (approximately 4-hour drive) with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy free time to explore. In the evening, experience exclusive after-hours access at the International Wolf Center, including dinner, private wolf programs, and a guided wolf howling experience outside of town. If conditions are right, you may hear wolves respond. L, D.
Day 2 - Saturday, February 6: Ely Exploration & International Wolf Center
Start the day with a guided winter hike (approximately 1 mile) to a scenic waterfall while learning about wolf habitat and ecosystems. Return to the International Wolf Center to observe morning wolf care, engage with staff, and explore exhibits. After lunch, enjoy free time in Ely to shop, relax, or explore. In the evening, return for another exclusive after-hours experience featuring dinner, extended wolf programming, trivia, and the 'What’s for Dinner?' program. B, L, D.
Day 3 - Sunday, February 7: Dogsledding & Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a dogsledding experience at Wintergreen Dogsledding Lodge, led by renowned guides. This hands-on adventure offers a true Northwoods experience. Following lunch, begin your journey home or extend your stay in northern Minnesota. B, L.

• Transportation to and from Ely is not included. Email [email protected] if this is an issue.
• AWD/4WD vehicles are strongly recommended. The drive to Wintergreen may be difficult in 2WD vehicles. Carpooling there is encouraged, parking is also limited. • Dogsledding guide tips are not included (recommended ~$10 per guest per guide).
Solo Travelers
You will either be assigned a roommate, or you can add the single room supplement to your order on the Add-on options page during registration. If you prefer a roommate, we will add you to the roommate list, and when another solo traveler requests a roommate, we will let you know. However, if another solo traveler is unavailable, you may be charged the single room supplement.
Activity Level

Reasons:
• Hiking for 1.5 hours on uneven and potentially slippery trail.
• Standing, holding, and balancing for 2 hours on a dogsled.

The itinerary may be altered due to weather, and suitable replacements will try to be scheduled. Refunds will only be made under extenuating circumstances. In case of severe weather, the EdVenture will be cancelled, and a refund will be issued.
