Breakfast at the Zoo
Saturdays: December 27 (sold out) More dates added in January, February & March.

Warm up a winter morning with PJs and pancakes at the Minnesota Zoo. At your Breakfast at the Zoo from, 8:30 – 10 a.m., enjoy a build-your-own pancake bar. You can top your stack of flapjacks with butter, maple syrup, fresh berries, fruit preserves, candied pecans – and whipped cream, of course. Plus: turkey sausage links, scrambled eggs, crispy breakfast potatoes, orange juice, and steaming hot coffee. *Dairy free, Gluten-Free, Vegan pancakes are available. Eat up, then enjoy family-friendly activity stations, story time, and games.

Due to high demand, more dates have been added. After breakfast, get tickets to stay and play at the Zoo! It’s perfect timing to see the new wolf pups on the Minnesota Trail and the 10:30 a.m. Wings & Things! show. Breakfast at the Zoo tickets are $20 for adults, $14 for kids 3-12, and free for 0-2 years old. General admission tickets are added in the ticket price for non-members to explore the trails after your meal. Parking is including in the event ticket price for members, $10 for non-members. Capacity limited and tickets are going like hotcakes—get yours soon! (Tickets go off sale 3 days prior to the event). You will receive admission tickets via email, but the breakfast is NOT ticketed. Check in via name at Call of the Wild and pre-seating arrangement is assigned by order. If you request sit with a group purchasing from another order, please call 952-431-9200 at least one day prior to the breakfast so we can correct the seating arrangement.

Cheers to Noon Year’s Eve!

Ring in the wild New Year at the Zoo — before naptime! Visit the Zoo on December 31 to countdown at noon. Plus, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., celebrate with a DJ party zone, silent dance party, and sensory-friendly craft lounge. Watch for special animal enrichment moments all around the Zoo and treat yourself to a holiday menu and beverages. The penguins are already dressed up for the occasion!

Celebrate Winter Solstice, December 20 – 21

Want to mark the start of your kids’ school break or make Minnesota memories with out-of-town guests? Bring them to the Zoo for Winter Solstice Weekend, December 20 – 21, where the darkest days are bright with wildlife! Warm up with a winter-themed specialty drink: Darkest Day Decadence. It’s a 16-oz. festive cup of double chocolate hot cocoa topped with an OREO Cakester. Available only December 20 - 21 at Penguin Café, while supplies last. Who doesn’t mind the dark? Sloths! Come learn about these slow, sleepy, and super cool creatures at Sloth Keeper Chats, Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. on the Tropics Trail. Animals will have extra-special enrichment experiences all day on Saturday and Sunday. Enrichment includes objects, scents, and surfaces that engage animals’ senses and spark curiosity. Dive deeper into the Solstice when you join a Moonlight Qigong & Tai Chi class in Discovery Bay, Dec. 21, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. This movement-based, meditative practice reduces stress, increases strength, and calms your body and mind. The program welcomes guests aged 13+.
