The Minnesota Zoo and the The Okee Dokee Brothers are teaming up to engage families with creative outdoor programs and innovative ways to connect with nature!

Minnesota Zoo is on a mission to connect people, animals and the natural world to save wildlife. We take nature play seriously, because playing in nature leads to protecting nature.

The Okee Dokee Brothers share our passion for nature and have a mission to encourage kids and families to venture out and explore the natural world. These common values are at the heart of a collaboration that will feature special appearances at the Minnesota Zoo by bandleaders Justin Lansing and Joe Mailander.

As kids in Colorado, Justin and Joe grew up together exploring nearby creeks, trails, woods and rivers. Twenty years later as the Okee Dokee Brothers, they are still roaming the outdoors together, but with a mission and a couple of guitars in their packs. Now based in Minneapolis, the GRAMMY Award-winning folk singer-songwriters are advocates for adventure.

Justin and Joe will participate in four upcoming family Zoo adventures this year designed for kids 4-9 and their favorite grownups. Activities, excursions, crafts and games throughout the whole Zoo are fun for young and old alike. Visits to behind-the-scenes with zookeepers and interactions with the Okee Dokee Brothers are sure to make an indelible impression and plant the seeds for future nature advocates.

The Zoo is excited to have the Okee Dokee Brothers debut their new single live at the Zoo on Saturday, March 18 during a special animal encounter in the Discovery Bay stadium. The performance times will be at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Seating is limited to 600 each performance. A print-at-home ticket is required for every participant, in addition to regular Zoo admission. Tickets will be scanned at the cashier booths upon entry to the Zoo.
