Apple Valley, MINN – May 9, 2019 – Join Minnesota Zoo Director/President John Frawley along with Zoo staff, volunteers, and Zoomobile’s animal ambassadors as they bring a slice of the Minnesota Zoo to the Capitol Rotunda for “Minnesota Zoo Day at the Capitol.” On Thursday, May 16 at 1:30 pm, the Capitol Rotunda will play host to a variety of Zoo mammals, birds, reptiles, and more.

“We are so thankful for all the support we receive from our state legislators,” said Minnesota Zoo Director/President John Frawley. “The support we get from the Minnesota Legislature as a state agency is key to the sustainability of our public-private partnership and helps to ensure the Minnesota Zoo is a destination and resource for all Minnesotans.”

The Minnesota Zoo visits the Minnesota State Capitol annually to introduce legislators to animals that educate guests about the environment, and highlight the Zoo’s positive impact across Minnesota. Conservation, education, and recreation activities have earned local, national, and international awards and recognition for the Minnesota Zoo. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the Minnesota Zoo welcomes more than 1.3 million guests each year from around the world.
