Apple Valley, MINN – September 13, 2016 – The Minnesota Zoo and JB Hudson Jewelers are partnering to help save wildlife. On Thursday, September 22, JB Hudson’s flagship Nicollet Mall store in Minneapolis will host “Jewels of the Wild,” a day-long celebration featuring unique animal-themed jewelry and live animals.  A percentage of all sales that day will benefit the Zoo and its efforts to save wild animals.

“The Zoo is a leader in helping to protect threatened and endangered species both here in Minnesota and around the world,” says Minnesota Zoo Foundation Trustee Chad Dayton.  “We are on Minnesota’s prairies, helping to save butterflies like the Poweshiek skipperling and the Dakota skipper, and we are in Namibia, helping to protect the last truly free-roaming population of critically endangered black rhinos.  Every day, the Minnesota Zoo is connecting its guests with wild animals and inspiring them to join us in our efforts to save wild animals.  We are thrilled that JB Hudson is joining us in their important effort.”

In addition to the animal-themed jewelry, with prices starting as low as $75, the event features a special appearance by the Zoo’s premiere outreach program, Zoomobile, which will be at the store from noon to 2 pm, sharing Zoo animals with customers.  Throughout the day, zookeepers also will join in the festivities and share stories about the animals they care for and how they ensure their well-being.
