“Mystical & Magical Mongolia”
Saturday, May 7, 2016; 5:30 p.m.
Apple Valley, MINN – May 6, 2016 – Join the Minnesota Zoo for its 28th Beastly Ball, a black-tie affair, on Saturday, May 7, 2016. The Ball brings together more than 500 engaged corporate and philanthropic leaders – this year, to celebrate the Asian wild horse.
The Beastly Ball is the Minnesota Zoo’s annual premiere event which generates support for wildlife conservation and environmental science education across the state. Last year, the Ball raised $570,000 – a record year. A unique party with a purpose, the Ball allows guests to mix and mingle with Zoo animals, enjoy fabulous entertainment and a gourmet dinner, and a chance to bid on unique live and silent auction items – all to raise funds to support the Zoo’s conservation efforts in Minnesota and around the world.
The only truly wild horse species left on the planet, the Asian wild horse was pushed to extinction in the wild in the 1960s. A breeding program saved this species, allowing them to be reintroduced to their native habitat – with nearly 500 Asian wild horses roaming the grasslands of China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. Today, more than 80 Asian wild horses living in Mongolia are descendants of a stallion that once lived at the Minnesota Zoo.
All Beastly Ball proceeds provide critical funds for the Zoo’s conservation and education initiatives. For tickets, contact Doug Tiede at 952.431.9310 or make your reservation today! All proceeds will benefit the Zoo’s conservation and education programs.
