Minnesotans for a Great Zoo
The Minnesota Zoo offers something special for all Minnesotans. It is:
- An important community gathering place for all Minnesotans with more than 1.2 million guests annually.
- A leading cultural institution.
- One of our state’s most innovative environmental educational centers.
- A state, national and international leader in wildlife conservation.
- An economic engine for our community supporting more than 1700 jobs.
In short, the Minnesota Zoo is a great Zoo.
The Minnesota Zoo is also a state agency that relies on public funding to support its operations, facilities and programming. Each year, the Zoo works with the Governor, legislators and other public officials to secure funding needed for the Zoo continue to be a great Zoo.
Through Minnesotans for a Great Zoo, we periodically provide Zoo supporters with updates on these activities. We also provide opportunities for members of Minnesotans for a Great Zoo to voice their support of the Zoo by contacting public officials, policy makers and community leaders.
