Inside the Zoo Guided Tour
The Treetop Trail is the Minnesota Zoo’s newest and largest attraction. After years of planning, it’s now open for all to enjoy. If you are looking for a unique way to explore the Trail, this guided tour will take you through what it took to go from an old monorail track to the world’s longest elevated walking trail. This 1.25-mile tour will loop through the Zoo and into our northern woods, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
Zoo staff will share information and stories regarding the history of the monorail, the Treetop Trail planning and construction process, the interpretive story of the trail, and how this all connects to the Zoo’s mission to save wildlife. We highly encourage questions to help make the experience unique and special to you.
As we pilot these tours, we will be constantly learning and adjusting the tour to make this the best possible experience for our guests.
