Family Camp-Out Overnight
“Happy Campers Protect Wildlife.”
That’s why the Zoo is participating in the Great American Camp-out again this year – and we’d love to have you and your family join us! For one extraordinary night this summer, come out to the Minnesota Zoo to learn new camping skills (like setting up a tent or having a safe campfire), play games as a family, and learn about Minnesota wildlife. Enjoy a sunset over the horse pasture, the sound of chirping crickets, and the scent of delicious roasting marshmallows. The Zoo will provide tents and foam sleeping mats to all participants, along with guidance in setting up the tents (you’re also welcome to bring your own, if you prefer.) We also provide dinner, breakfast, T-shirts, and everything you need to make s’mores! You’ll leave with new family memories, plus the skills and knowledge you need to take your own Minnesota camping trip.
Overnights start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 a.m. the following morning. After the conclusion of the program all participants are invited to enjoy the rest of the day at the Minnesota Zoo. We need a minimum of 15 people for the overnight to take place.
Ages: This event is open to people ages five and older. A minimum of one adult and one child is required.
$49 per person for Zoo members
$59 per person for non-members
Cost includes all activities, evening snack (a pizza snack and juice), breakfast and a T-shirt.
Where do we sleep?: We’ll camp out in tents! (Conditions permitting.) Foam sleeping mats and tents are provided. You can choose to bring your own sleeping mats or tents as well, if you prefer.
