Fly on over to get up close and personal with the stunning variety of birds along the Minnesota Zoo’s Tropics Trail!
Before the Zoo opens, walk the Tropics Trail with a naturalist and an animal care staff, watching the trail wake up for the day. Jump in and participate in our morning routine by feeding the ducks on Gibbon Lake and our tropical birds in the aviary! During this experience and if you remain quiet enough, the tropical birds will come down and surround you during their morning feed—the perfect time to capture a beautiful photo or simply sit quietly and observe. Learn about the behaviors and care of our tropical birds, including several rare endangered species, and ask Zoo staff all the questions you may have. This interactive experience is ideal for photographers, families, and birders of all kinds.
Our many birds, reptiles, and mammals of the Tropics look forward to saying good morning to you!
Note: This program may involve sitting or kneeling on the ground. If you are unable to do so, please contact us so we can adjust the experience to fit your needs.
