Camp Schedule

Farm Crew
8:00 a.m.–noon
This hands-on week of scooping, raking, and other farm chores shines the light on animal care at the farm. What’s more fun than learning animal training techniques and having the opportunity to “train” a goat? No experience necessary—just a willingness to get a little dirty.
Fee: $195 ($170 for Zoo members)

Wildlife Field Science
(previously Wildlife Field Exploration)
9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Have you ever wanted to study animals in the wild? Spend a week in the Zoo’s backwoods using tools of the trade and testing your outdoor skills while investigating a research question of your choice. You’ll get a learning experience that you can’t get within a classroom or textbook. Minnesota’s diverse ecosystems will help you dive deeper into this popular yet demanding career. Camp will take place outdoors; shelter will be available as needed.
Fee: $270 ($235 for Zoo members)

Wildlife Heroes
(previously Engineering For Wildlife)
9:00 a.m.–noon or 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Are you a wildlife hero? Heroes like engineers, scientists, and even students work to create solutions to everyday problems that help save wildlife. Test your skills with design challenges while learning about real-world conservation issues—around the world and right in your own backyard.
Fee: $180 ($155 for Zoo members)

Zoo Crew
9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Explore a day in the life of our animal care staff, a zoo vet, a marine mammal trainer, and an aquarist to see if the Zoo is the place for you. Make animal enrichment items, talk with Zoo professionals, visit behind-the-scenes, and get up close to animals. Come join the crew!

Zoo Design

Have you ever wondered how zoo exhibits are designed? Learn about animal needs and how to identify the components that make an excellent exhibit. Plan and create your own zoo exhibit with the help of our design experts and your model-making team.
