Partnership with Children’s Theatre Company
1:00–4:00 p.m.
Join Children’s Theatre Company and the Minnesota Zoo to discover your creativity! With animals and nature as your inspiration, delve into a different theatre technique each day to develop acting skills including character development, storytelling, and improvisation.
Fee: $250 (no member discounts apply)

Dino Diggers
9:00 a.m.–noon or 1:00–4:00 p.m.
Learn techniques used by paleontologists to try to unlock the mysteries of the past. A recreated dig site will be our classroom for a truly hands-on experience, and visit our new dinosaur exhibit. Only those willing to get dirty need apply for this outdoor-based camp! Shelter will be available as needed.

Farmyard Connection

Make glue from milk and transform wool into clothing. Explore the amazing connections people have with farm animals through chores, close-up animal encounters, and more!

Marine Mysteries

What secrets do the oceans and their creatures hold? Explore a different mystery each day featuring sea turtles, Hawaiian monk seals, sharks, penguins, and a few of their other underwater friends.

Navigating Nature
9:00 a.m.–noon or 1:00–4:00 p.m.
Animals use the sun, the moon, and Earth’s magnetic field to find their way. How about you? Create a map, use a compass, and solve a Zoo treasure hunt with GPS. Explore the incredible ways animals use their own internal navigation system.

Photo Safari

Let’s explore! Pack your field bag with your journal and camera (all provided) as we explore the countries that make up each Zoo trail. A homemade photo journal will be our week-long project. Our animals are ready for their close-up—are you?

S.E.A. Camp
(previously Splash Camp)

Splashing! Experiments! Adventure! Explore water and its wildlife. Slosh and search for creatures in the marsh, investigate water invaders, perform experiments, and play water games. Please bring a bag each day with extra clothes and shoes that can get wet/muddy.

Tree House Adventure
9:00 a.m.–noon
Embark on mysterious missions with Jack and Annie as your guides (based on the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne). From the tropical rainforest to the depths of the ocean, you never know what you’ll discover!
