Disguises & Surprises

For animals, a good disguise or sudden surprise comes in handy every day. What’s the secret behind animal “tricks” like playing dead, rolling into a ball, and showing off? Discover how animals are designed to be masters of deception.

Down on the Farm

It’s time to get down on the farm! Spend time feeding and grooming animals, make dairy products, and as our sheep say—have a “bla-a-a-ast.”

1:00–4:00 p.m.
Music is everywhere—join us for a musical journey around the world! Explore the sounds and wildlife of South America, Asia, and Africa through song, movement, art, and animal encounters. Take home a prerecorded MacPhail Sing Play Learn CD featuring some of our favorite songs from camp.

Ocean Odyssey

Dive into an underwater world teeming with sea turtles, sharks, sea dragons, and monk seals! Each day, explore a different ocean habitat including coral reefs, tide pools, and estuaries.

When I Grow Up

Would you like to work at the Zoo? Explore and role-play jobs at the Zoo and see the grown-ups in action. If you imagine yourself caring for bears, training seals, or studying tigers, then this camp is for you.

Who Done It?
Partnership with Children’s Theatre Company
9:00 a.m.–noon
Join Children’s Theatre Company and the Minnesota Zoo to tackle a new Zoo mystery each day. Combine your super sleuth skills with theatre games and teamwork to uncover clues, meet new animals, and learn the value of conservation.
Fee: $250 (no member discounts apply)

Zoo Explorers

Tromp through the tropics, journey through the grasslands, and “swim” through the oceans to observe animals like real zoologists. Camp will take place outdoors; shelter will be available as needed.

Zoo Monsters

To be the best, you need to do more than catch ‘em all—you need to understand your monsters! Explore the “monsters” at the Zoo that inspired the pocket monster world. Learn where they come from and what special powers help them survive.
