Minnesota Zoo Introduces Unique “Roaches are Red” Valentine’s Day Promotion

Apple Valley, MINN – February 1, 2016  – Interested in an atypical Valentine’s Day promotion? Have flowers and chocolates become passé, or are you just looking for something different? The Minnesota Zoo is excited to introduce a new promotion of love, running February 1-14, starring a likely unexpected animal: Madagascar hissing cockroaches!

This year, for just $10, The Zoo’s “Roaches are Red” campaign will provide you the opportunity to name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after someone you love or care about. Donors will receive an electronic certificate that can be e-mailed to your special someone announcing that a cockroach has been named in his/her honor, along with the sweet poem – so name a hissing cockroach after your sweetie, grandchild, or best friend. And, for those that find cockroaches a bit too unique, the Zoo is also offering red panda and penguin stuffed animals for sponsorship opportunities as well.

For more information, or to name a cockroach, visit: http://mnzoo.org/cockroach
