Welcome Hawaiian Monk Seals to Minnesota with an Animal Sponsorship
The Minnesota Zoo can’t wait to introduce you to five Hawaiian Monk Seals scheduled to arrive at Discovery Bay in May!
The Zoo will give these seals a forever home and provide a daily diet of up to 15 pounds of sustainable seafood like herring and squid. In return, these five non-releasable seals will inspire Minnesotans to make choices that make a difference—even as far away as Hawaii.
Hawaiian monk seals are one of the most endangered species in the world, with only about 1,100 left in the wild. They struggle with garbage, disease, fishermen’s nets, lack of food, and people on breeding beaches. A few sharks even have learned how to beach themselves to prey on seal pups!
But there is hope—if we all work together.
You can help with a Hawaiian Monk Seal Animal Sponsorship. Your tax-deductible gift will help feed the seals and ALL the animals at the Minnesota Zoo.
Your $55 sponsorship package includes:
- A 12” monk seal plush toy
- A Hawaiian monk seal trading card
- A personalized sponsorship certificate
Your $100 sponsorship package also includes:
- Animal Homes, a children’s book about animals and habitats by Judy Allen and Simon Mendez.
Your $250 sponsorship package also includes:
- An invitation to meet with a Zookeeper (during normal Zoo hours).
