Visit the softest and possibly the cutest animal at the Zoo!

Learn about domestic chinchillas and their highly endangered wild family members while going behind the scenes of our Zoomobile area. Watch them play and take a dust bath. Take as many pictures as you can stand. And of course, touch their amazingly soft fur and feed them a treat or two. This interactive and educational program will leave you smiling and excited to help the Zoo save wild chinchillas.

Note: the Zoo is not a nut-free environment as nuts are a regular part of our animal diets and may be used during animal demonstrations and programs as positive reinforcement.
