How much food does a 700 pound bear eat per day?  How do Zoo Keepers figure that out? Come spend the day at the Minnesota Zoo and learn about how Zoo staff use math in all sorts of ways to keep our animals healthy and happy. Students have the opportunity to explore the Zoo, stopping at specialized stations along the way to practice using math in a real-world setting. Problems are aligned with Minnesota State Math Standards and are designed to help students understand why learning math is important and that it can be FUN! Choose to attend the day that corresponds with the grade level of your students as problems and stations will be tailored to specific age groups.
