Career Day- School Event
Geared towards school students in grades 9-12
Students will walk around the Zoo and gain insight and knowledge on some of the Zoo animal careers at various stations throughout the Zoo. Students will be given a Zoo Career Portfolio booklet upon arrival to use as a guide and template building on certain skills many animal care employers look for in a qualified candidate. The day is open format with some scheduled activities and is geared to schools attending with students in grades 9th-12th.

Career Day-Informational Seminars
Geared to grades 11 and older
Are you interested in having an exciting career working with animals? Then this program is for you! Join Minnesota Zoo professionals in these informational seminars to learn about science careers and receive practical advice on how to prepare for the future. Zoo staff from different areas of the Zoo will recommend college programs, discuss how volunteering, interning and related-work experience can give them an edge over others and explain what they do in their day-to-day activities. This program is geared toward individuals in 11th grade and older. Registrations will be accepted until noon on the Friday prior to the event. Lunch is not provided. You may bring your own lunch or eat in our “Call of the Wild Café”, lunch prices range up to $12.00.
