Career Day

Are you interested in having an exciting career working with animals? Join Minnesota Zoo professionals in these informational seminars to learn about science careers and receive practical advice on how to prepare for the future.

Zoo staff from different areas of the Zoo will recommend college programs, discuss how volunteering, interning and related-work experience can give them an edge over others and explain what they do in their day-to-day activities. A light breakfast and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

Time:	9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
*Fees:	$32 per participant for members $35 per participant for non-members
Ages:	12 - Adult Minimum 12 years old, participants younger than 16 must be accompanied by a paid adult participant

*Group Registration Discount: If you have 15 or more people in your group that would like to attend Career Day, you will receive the member rate for your group. To check on availability and to register your group, please call the Education Scheduler at 952-431-9320. Full payment for the group will be collected at the time of registration.

9:00 – 9:15 a.m.	Check-in at main entrance
9:15 – 9:30 a.m.	Orientation
9:30 – 10:15 a.m.	Animal handling
10:30 – 11:15 a.m.	Education Naturalist
11:30 – 12:15 p.m.	Veterinarian/Vet Tech
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.	Free time/lunch and/or behind-the-scenes sneak peak
1:45 – 2:30 p.m.	Zookeeping
2:45 – 3:30 p.m.	Aquarium Management and Animal Training

Lunch is not provided. You may bring your own lunch or eat in our “Call of the Wild Café.” Lunch prices range up to $9.00.

Registrations will only be accepted until noon on the Friday prior to the event.
