Savers and Snorers; Squirrels, Hibernation, Bears, Hedgehogs – Thursday, December 28, 2017
The savers and snorers. Each summer and fall many animals are busy preparing for the cold, snowy, winter months ahead and “squirrel” away food or eat heartily to fatten up before they settle down for a long winters nap. Blubber is important in helping animals survive cold temperatures on land and in water. Come visit the Hawaiian Monk Seal and spend time outside on our Russia’s Grizzly Coast exhibit. Maybe we will even hear a few snores!
