You’ve heard the puns, you’ve seen them on t-shirts, and you know they spit (do they really?). Now meet the real things! What does it take to get our herd of 20 llama ready for the day? Help our animal care staff open the Llama Trek exhibit for the day and find out. After we drive behind the scenes and meet our herd of llamas, we will put you to a little work while back there. But putting on their halters and walking them all to the exhibit is one chore no one will pass on. As you introduce yourself to the llamas, feed them some treats as well. The last chore for the morning is getting the guinea pigs on exhibit. No halters needed for these little balls of fur and energy, and no threats of spitting either. While you are busy meeting the animals, learn about the Minnesota Zoo’s South American conservation project saving wild chinchillas.

Note: This program includes walking down a small hill over uneven terrain. If you are unable to do so, please contact us so we can adjust the experience to fit your needs.
