The Minnesota Zoo is on a mission to a connect people, animals and the natural world to save wildlife.  Research shows that the most common factor contributing to children developing strong conservation ethics in adulthood is spending time together in nature with positive role models and family members.

In addition, children who play in nature tend to be happier as well as more self-disciplined, self-confident, creative, cooperative, and physically fit.  Nature play can strengthen family ties and promote a sense of community.  Make ‘playing like an animal’ part of your family’s routine! Are you in? Join us for the next all new Family Nature Club program THIS SUNDAY, September 13.  Celebrate the beauty and wonder of autumn exploring trees and leaves, searching for animal homes, and discovering signs of the season with a trained Minnesota Zoo naturalist as your guide.  PLUS, don’t miss our next Wild Day of Play, September 27, in the new Hanifl Family Wild Woods – the Minnesota Zoo’s new immersive nature-play experience that encourages kids to explore and connect with nature.  This month will kindle your creativity and imagination as we explore and construct homes for the Wild Woods’ native creatures—and even those ever-so-elusive fairies and gnomes that might move in!
