Fall is fast approaching! Don’t miss this weekend’s last chance for summer fun at the Minnesota Zoo. Make sure to experience the outback at Kangaroo Crossing, brush shoulders with butterflies at the Butterfly Garden, and enjoy the outdoor Wings Financial World of Birds Show.

Kangaroo Crossing
Have you explored the outback yet? Join us this week and experience Australian experience along the Northern Trail. There’s still time to roam with the roos and get an up close look at our outback ambassadors. Starting September 5, the walkabout experience will only be available on Weekends through October 15. Need to recharge after your walk in the outback, stop by Walkabout Grill and try some Australia-themed food and beverages.

Butterfly Garden
This weekend is the last chance to stroll through the Butterfly Garden. Soak up the sun and see over 40 different species of North American butterflies and moths. This interactive exhibit demonstrates the butterfly life cycle, including stages as a caterpillar, chrysalis or cocoon, and adult. The Butterfly Garden is open daily until Labor Day, and can be found at the end of the Tropics Trail.

Wings Financial World of Birds Show
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Coconut, the Sulphur-crested cockatoo! Don’t miss your chance to see Coconut, and enjoy the outdoor Wings Finical World of Birds Show at the Weesner Family Amphitheater. Enjoy views of the lake and the breeze from our feathered friends flying above our guests at our outdoor show. See soaring hawks, talking parrots, majestic owls, and many more rare and beautiful birds. Learn about their natural abilities, the diversity of species, and the importance of natural habitats. Shows happen daily now through Labor Day at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3pm. On September 5 the Wings Financial World of Birds Show will go on a brief hiatus as the show moves indoors to the Target Learning Center for the winter season.
